Shop Truck Build
Just starting a very low buck build of a shop runner truck. Starting with a 69 Chevy C10 with 182K on the odometer, and well worn 250 straight six. Immediate plans are to drop a V8 in and move the 3 speed from the column to the floor (linkage is junk). I've had the truck for 5 years now, bought it when I turned 16 with the intentions to fix it up and drive but never had the time, so now that I have a bit of extra capital and a renewed itch thanks to some of my buddies, I've decided to pull it out of the weeds and make a shop runner style truck for a daily driver.
How it looked when I got it home.

Looks like you have a good start to your project. I like that dress up kit and wanted it for my truck, but freakin' bills and tuition keep getting in the way. Keep us posted on the V8 swap.

In the 5 years that I've owned it I've accumulated a few parts for it including a different hood, patch panels to fix the rust, better condition grille, rear bumper, set of 6 lug rally's, and a box of misc parts.
It has a complete new brake system on it from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders and drums. Going to wash it off and sand down the surface rust and throw a few quick coats of flat black on it just so it all one color. Gonna order the cam, manifold, and carb kit Link from summit next week hopefully along with a dress up kit Link. Still gotta figure out which tranny I have so I can order the right floor shifter install kit, anyone know which one I need? Future plans include a 4/6 drop, discs in at least the front, power brakes, bucket seats, and some simple bodywork. I hope to be able to pull it into the garage this winter and do some of the more major stuff, but as soon as the v8 is dropped in a hopefully a few weeks, it will become my DD and my 2000 GMC will be down the road. Paint will be flat black with the shop logo of the local cycle shop that we deal with, and maybe some traditional ratrod pinstriping. I am thinking of doing the traditional different color roof but with the flat black I don't know what would look good, or if I should just go one solid color.
