rbs front frame stub

Has anyone here used the rb's front frame stub in a 55-59 Chevy? I am considering one for my 59 and wanted to know what you guys thought of it. The install looks pretty straight forward and I like that it uses full size car components. I am concered about the hub to hub distance though. It is listed on the website as 57 1/2 inches. Isn't the stock width closer to 62?

Also if you have used the rbs's clip, what did you use for a rear end? How was the fitment of wheels? Did you have to tub the bed?

never heard of it but it looks cool...57.5 is probably a misprint but I would call them first. I installed a 2nd gen Trans Am subframe with a 61.5 track width, pretty smooth install so far. Im going with a 2nd gen Camaro rear axle 60.5" no need for tubs yet.

1400 bucks and you still have to go to the yard and get parts? Around two years ago this kit was not this much (I was looking into getting it). If I were you I would check into the Dakota clip (since you do not want to do the carmaro or mustang II) Its 712 bucks for your truck but you still have to go to the yard or where ever and find dakota parts but that's easy. You can check it out at http://www.industrialchassisinc.com/ my buddy has one and loves it. I'm just giving you another option, I thought 1395 was really expensive for just a clip with no components.

I think the reason it gets narrow like that, is with a 5inch or so drop, you won't have to worry about narrowed control arms to bring the tire/wheels in, to keep from rubbing on shrp turns...just a thought, but I'm not sure.

I think Fatman Fabrications sells one also that is not quite that expensive.
