Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
Just an FYI;
I have a Belltech kit. Front came by way of drop spindles and rear was done with a set of shackles and hangers. Only cutting involved was a small notch right above the shackles in the very rear. An easy task with a cutting wheel and an air compressor. Hardest part will be removing the rivets on the hangers... EDIT: Also, I reccomend getting new shocks and also checking tire clearances. My fronts rub and the wheels arches cut into the tires. I was running the same tires all around until I lowered it and this became a problem. It's still a small issue, but not as big as it was when I was running a 275 series tire up front. If you don't have new rims yet, make sure to check and double check your back spacing and tire clearances before buying them. Last edited by AceX; 04-13-2007 at 09:43 PM. |

Mine uses spindles with new, stock coils on the front and and drop leaves on the rear. Tires are 255/70/15 Radial TAs all the way around, on 8" rally wheels. Nothing scrapes, even at full left or right lock.

AceX, Are those wheels 10" wide or 8" wide with a shallow backspacing?
Truck looks great!

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
My wheels are 15x10. My Uncle had them on the truck like a month after he got it.
I've gotta Simmichrome 'em again. The water spots are beginning to bug me. My only real beef with these wheels is that they are a uni-lug setup so whenever I wash them, water sits inside of the area around the studs and slowly drips out, or it shoots all over the wheels when I drive it... Yes, this is the first time I have posted pics of the truck. Last edited by AceX; 04-15-2007 at 06:00 AM. Reason: speeling... |

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
Make sure you get the right offset on the front wheels or you may have problems with the tires rubbing. The rears I wouldn't worry as much...

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
When you say unilug you mean they have more then 5 hles drilled in them or they just have oval holes where the lug nuts go?
If they are oval holes then you are not using the right washers or maybe lug nuts. I have a set of cragers that are unilug, they have an oblong/oval slot for the lug nuts, they fit 5x4.5 5x4.75 and 5x5 bolt patterns, and thus you must use a thicker center hole washer for the 5x4.75 or in your case the offset ones, they are thick on one side and thin on the other just for the offset so they cover the holes. Usually on unilugs like mine you HAVE to use thoose washers and correct lugs or they'll flop around making noises, or bounce up and down, vibrate all that kinda crap and eventually were out the lug nut holes. That was a pretty common deal with the oblong hole unilugs. I would think running the smallest or in your case largest bolt pattern would lessen the chances of that since they'll stay in contact with the rim. You just need the washers to cover the holes. I have some I can take pics of if you want and yours are oblong. if they have more then 5 bolt holes I can't help ya, doesn't look like they do though. You can get the washers from summit racing, jegs, ebay, or maybe local parts stores or tire/wheel place. I got mine from summit, not too expensive.

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
I have washers, they don't work...
I'm just gonna have to live with it for now. I have bigger fish to fry at the moment. I just figured out that I may have a cracked head, or at least a blown head gasket... |

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
Yes you may have washers but if they are unilug and you don't have the offset washer then they are not right.
Which means they'll do exactly what yours is doing. I'll find a pic and post it for you to compare. Hate to hear about your head, I had that scare last year on my monte carlo. I ended up tearing it down, doing a valve job and head gaskets. Ok here's a link on summit's site, if yours have the oblong holes in the wheels then you need theese washers, they should take care of the water problem on the wheels from the holes dripping. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Re: tried search, no luck- looking for 2.5-4 inch drop pics
LOl no problem bro.
Glad I could help you out. heck I have some but not enough to make a full set, I got them when I had to buy the correct lug nuts for my monte carlo, they came with lugs center hole and offset washers. My cragera are the exact same oblong unilug, but without the correct center holes on my 4.75 bolt pattern they'd flop around and bug ya, since yours is big pattern the thin side would go up or outwards, and the thick side towards the center of the wheel, it will cover your holes up and should completely stop the water problems. Plus if you gotta order gaskets to fix the head problem, heck might as well order thoose then, it sucks to pay $10 shipping on $20 worth of small parts.

Turns out it wasn't the head actually. It was the water pump... I couldn't trace the leak until a few hours ago when it finaly started to drip.

Nice so that should be an easy fix and shouldn't have any problems then. That be alot better then a head gasket change.
