Put it all behind us....

Well its been a he11 of a weekend both at home and on this board... What better way to put it all behind me than to install the lil powerplant sitting in the garage.

Work looked a bit slow for this week so I think I'll take tomorrow and put that badboy in. Thats one nice thing about doing the work I do.. if its slow or I want to take the day off and work on the truck, I have a 12 bay shop to do anything I like

I hear ya, Z. Looks like you can put a lot of things behind you with that in the engine bay! Good luck tomorrow. This weekend was pretty rough, but it's nothing that some serious therapeutic wrenching can't cure.

I just want to hear it whine lol. Summit gear drive "Noisy" cant wait. Hard to beleive I've been messing with this engine for 3 months. Usually when I get into somethign like this, its a one weekend deal. I must be getting old and gaining patience.

Yea let us know how that Summit gear drive "noisey" sounds. I am thinking about putting one in when I replace my timing chain. Nice looking engine. THanks

lol ns. O yea remember the windstar? It came back 3 days later.... front pump seal blown out of the transmission. Had to pull it all back out again. Customer declined replacing it (we recommend replacing that seal ANY time the engine is out).

Finaly got it all back and going but then had a P0171 and P0174. Chased it down to a camsensor thats 6 degree's off and a dirty MAF. What a deal...

Nice motor. Is it soon to be as dirty as that engine compartment? Nah, just playin'. But I really like the motor; wheres the NOS tank goin? What kind of tranny is backin it up? Do you have any idea what kind of hp you're spinnin' with it?
*also a question. Does anyone know how deep the incab tanks are? Because some subs would go good back there. Like some 15" but they're like 8" deep. Does anyone have a tank they could measure for me? I appreciate it in advance.
Brandon.

hehe, well my original plan was to wait until I finished the cab (which isnt here yet either) then do a frame off resto on the old thing. Then put the engine in a nice new truck... But plans changed lol. The current engine developed a strange tick (broken valve spring) so I had to move the install date up a bit LOL.

When I do the resto, I'll remove the tank and go with a blazer tank in the rear. I'm hoping that will give me enough room to put the bottle on the passenger side behind the seat. Not to sure on that because its a 20lb bottle!!

a few specs on the engine:
The engine is a 350 bored 0.40 over. Rotating assembly has been balanced/blueprinted. TRW 4valve releif pistons, Comp Cams 280H, Roller rockers, screw in studs, guide plates, Comp cams pushrods, Trick Flow aluminum heads, Hooker Super Competition headers,Comp 9000 unilite Distributor, AN Fittings and stainless steel hosing, Holley 700 double pumper , Edelbrock performer RPM and top it all off with a 150hp shot of Nitrous.
