Been told im nuts to bring it back from the dead (still going to happen) plans-all stock with a turbo 292 inline 3 speed column shift. and thats it big block 427 and 5 speed trans and ford 9 inch theyhave no home yet thinking what to put them in and a 79 c60 trash truck um no idea i have one

well this week my ranger died i knew it was the timing belt so i did that this weekend not a bad job just with the damper wheel it was kinda stuck on there so it took a bit of persuading to get it off then we had dinner at a friends house today tomorrow my wife has her post operative consult so we are focusing on that..

Well, the only truck related thing I got done was my fuse block cover.
Saturday I went to a car show, worked on the house, and picked up a Kelvinator refrigerator for the garage. This thing is cool, and is in excellent condition. Even came with four aluminum ice cube trays...they are sweet! Sunday, I painted our living room, watched the NASCAR race, and relaxed.

Saturday I finally managed to blow my Lincoln's rear brake line - was backing into my carport and pedal went soft (not really to the floor tho), throw it in park and I see brake fluid squirting off the line right under the driver's door. It'll get sealed some time next week so I can take the car to school or my buddy's place down in Livonia and replace the whole line.
Sunday the truck received some more wire conduit in the engine bay, and got kinda cleaned up too. I also finally took my bikes outta my storage room, cleaned them up, re-adjusted the gears, and took them for a ride around the apartment complex - I had forgotten how much fun it is to jump stairs, lol

I had to pull the headliner I installed down and re-glue it to the panel seems the 3-m spray in adhesive does not like the extreme heat. Went to a fabric store in tempe that sells auto fabric and asked them what was wrong they sold me this other stuff that cost half price. Hope it works.

Sold my 88 short fleet last week so on friday I joined your crew!!
Bought a 1 owner 1978 chevy BIG 10 interior is mint the put plastic over the carpet since day one , same story with the seat. 130,000 km Body is straight but front fenders have severe rot....... opened the topper and founs a pair of NOS GM fenders. woo hooo Popped the hood and found a 454!!!!!! awsome on the down side, it was converted to propane the same time they bought it , on the plus side, they kept everything an included it with the truck ,so I have a brandy new 4bbl to throw back on it. its a full load truck everything but a tach.air tilt cruise power windows and locks. dual tanks. etc... It started right up after sitting for months...... Ive been tooling aroudn in it all weekend , no squeaks no rattles drives straight. IM pretty happy with it. couple exaust leaks to take care of and im set. Oh and I paid the widow of the original owner , $1000, cash. Canadian Now to lower it and get it ready for some paint.

i picked up a new cab on saturday, it was fun trying to get that off the trailer
 started out with this...   then stripped it down, it's now on it's side for better access to the bottom   started to drill out the spot welds on the metal dash, got half of them and the bit isn't sharp enough anymore. my dad will be gettin a bunch of new ones from his work. right now in the process of cutting the floor out for the traditional bodydrop |

Saturday i rebuilt the front end on the Hoe 140k it was doing the death wabble every time i hit the breaks and it just progressivly got worse so everything got replaced except for the control arm bushings.
I also put some Edelbrock IAS shocks on the front and some DJM ones in the rear with the correct shock extenders it rides so much better now. Sunday i sat on my ass watching Pwr. block and other racing. Monday morning it's off to get the Hoe aligned. |

I finished up the latest version of my rear suspension for my 68.
Sat I finished modifying all the related brackets for my lowering block/panhard bar combo. I had to install & remove everything several times to get it right; then I got them all welded up & ground smooth. Today, I finished the prep on all the parts & everything got a coat of paint in the paint-booth (driveway  ). I now have the Bilsteins bolted in; 2" blocks swapped in; long panhard bar installed & level @ ride height. I've still got to re-do the rear bag mounts since I switched from the bigger Stones to RE6's which have different bolt dimensions.My buddy MattA also stopped by today to lend a much welcomed hand. While I was finishing up the various rear installs, he got the remainder of the valvetrain installed, adjusted the valves for start-up, & got the intake bolted on too. After dinner, I worked on shortening the retaining straps for my Blazer tank swap. I got one strap done.... another to go. It was a pain in the a** w/o a sheetmetal brake. Eyegore..... For overhead stuff don't use adhesive, use contact cement. Adhesive will eventually loosen when heated, contact cement shouldn't.

This was actually a bitter sweet truck weekend for me.
The '99: All bitter....  Transfer case developed a crack on the way home from tulsa last weekend. Ran out of fluid, got hot and burned up the clutch in the T-case. This weekend I found the crack (case finally started making noise) so now I get to replace the T-case.... the '87: Bitter and Sweet... Guy came and looked at my turbo kit today, should have money in hand monday. This sucks because I've worked toward the turbo setup for quite a while and I really looked forward to it. The good part is that now I'll have $2600 to put towards the body and paint. This means that it will be back in action MUCH MUCH sooner than it would be if I kept the turbo setup. I guess she'll be a bottle baby for a while....

slammed66, if you decide you don't want the trim when you re-paint it, I have a home for it here
I just tore my truck back down to the frame -- Sold the engine, transmission, transfercase, and the TPI setup... My wallet is fat, but my truck is seriously lacking :P Time to get that 6.0L swap on the go!

friday i bought a gt40 intake,then decided that i need the money, so i put it up for sale today, anyways saturday i helped put a welding bed on a truck, today after i went to church this morning we went back down there and loaded the welder and tools up,when we got back to town i hooked up a couple lights, i am gonna finish it tomorrow night.on the other hand i got some rallys, and if i go over there in time i am getting some good taillights, i am this <---> close to putting the truck back together, i think i am just gonna clean it out , and stick a for sale sign in it one last time, if i don't have any bites real quick, i guess i will assemble what needs assembled, and either let my dad have it (for a nominal fee) or put a for sale sign in it-driveable

I installed a new grill this weekend, pictures are not that great but you can get an idea of the new one.
