think i should keep the step bed or go with a fleet

I prefer fleet side beds.But....If I had a good step bed and couldnt find a fleet,I would keep the step.If I had a good fleet bed and couldnt find a step,I would keep the fleet.If 2,one fleet,and one step were lined up for sale for the same price,I would choose the fleetside.Its a matter of personal choice though.Some areas of the country like it one way,and another part likes it the other way

looks like you have a shorty truck.

there are very few longbed steps around, so tearing off the step would be a shame.

in this case though, your step looks like it is in pretty descent condition...
if you cant find a fleet that is close to the step's condition i'd leave it

i took the pic of the good side

, it needs a fender on pass. side, and it could use a tail gate.but the fleet bed im buying dosent have a tail gate either

If you put wide enough tires under the back you could have a step fleet side!

If the bed you have is solid with the exception of the fender on the passenger side,,,,I would probably stick with the step unless you can find someone to buy it and offset the cost of the fleet bed.

I have always liked the fleets better though the stepsides are nice but look cluttered to me. Just my $.02

If somebody wants a long step. i know where one is its a 67 but its kinda rough but i dunno if it runs or is for sale dark green with the stupid spare tire carrier (ugly) bout 20 minutes from me. if anybody is interested just let me now and i can point you in the right direction. btw i like the steps my grandpa always had them and it kinda rubbed off on me i guess.

Depends on the shape of your step side bed. If it's pretty solid, go with it and spend money in other places. From the 1 pic it looks good. I prefer the step side, but it seems like most people prefer the the fleet.

I like the fleets nice and straight besides it flows better with the front fenders and doors and the taillights are flush mounted as well.

Keep the step. The short fleets are becoming very common. I have a long step and will keep it because it's different and more practical for working in.

I prefer the fleets myself, but you gotta go with what makes you happy. Having said that, there are some sharp looking stepside trucks on this site. Spend about a week looking at a lot of trucks, and keep notes on the ones you really like. I bet you'll have your answer then.

I like the fleetsides but I love the uniqueness of the stepsides. Alot of cool trucks on this site depicting both check em' out................................
