4 Speed Questions
I have a granny low 4-speed in my truck. Will the factory crossmember and everything for the clutch work with a truck 3 speed?
It gets stuck in 3rd gear when i come to a stop. Its kinda hard to get it in 3rd gear. And i cant downshift at all.

Re: 4 Speed Questions
If you have the heavy duty Muncie SM465 they have the 5 1/4" front bearing retainer, all the rest are 4 1/8" so you will need a different bell housing.
Here's a link I got for transmissions they sell rebuild kits with complete instructions. I got a SM465 I'm going to rebuild befor I put it in my 68 C20. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...on_gateway.htm Last edited by airdale94; 05-01-2007 at 05:23 PM. |

Re: 4 Speed Questions
Is your clutch releasing properly? What you describe does not really sound like a tranny issue.

Yes im sure its releasing properly. once i get it in gear it will go and not slip. It just seems that this tranny is not syncronized.

Re: 4 Speed Questions
Don't know for but I would think the Zbar and linkage would all be fine. Have no idea on the drive shaft.
