Stock Seatbelts: Shoulder
I have looked long and hard for a set, I give up. I going for something after market.
Were they retractable? I see where the top of the harness mounts and I assume the center is a short belt bolted to the foor. How did the stock shoulder seatbelts mount at the bottom near the retractor? One bolt in the floor, and one for the retractor in the floor or side of cab? Pics would be nice cause I haven't even seen a truck with them in it.

RodC,
From what I have gathered they were 2 seperate belts. One was a lap belt, such as you already have. The other was a shoulder belt that bolted to the hole in the corner of the cab (over the driver's left shoulder) that connected to the other end that was bolted to the floor (same as the lap belt). Both had the big GM buckles. Now what some have used is a set of retractable from a S-10. Some modification is needed but not much. Pass. side bend the tab where it bolts to the floor. Driver's side either a flat plate to move it forward (to clear the gas tank if it is still in the cab) or move tank to under the bed. I have a set but havn't installed them yet. Plus they aren't as nice (plastic scratched) as I want to put in my truck. |

ALL '69 Camaros had the "optional" shoulder belts. They are almost exactly like the truck belts except the long end is the male part and the short end the female. They should be reasonalbly easy to come by and significantly cheaper than the truck belts and except to the very well educated should pass just fine.
