need a good interior color to match paint

im planning on putting newer trucks seats in my 69, but i need to figure out a good color.....seems the easiest to find is gray and tan, which i wouldnt mind gray, but im gonna replace quite a few things on the inside to black.....like the door panels and dash pad......anybody got any ideas?

Looks like you have spent some $$ on the truck already, so I vote pick up a gray one and after saving up a bit get it reupholstered black. With a lighter blue like you have, for me black instantly comes to mind as the best interior color.

Re: need a good interior color to match paint

yeh the black is what appeals to me the most and i believe would look the best, just wonder if i can stand the heat with no a/c haha......just gotta get this figured out......if i go with black, ill get the black dash pad that goes to the windshield and has the gauge pods built in and black door panels, but if i go gray i'll most likely get the regular dash pad in gray and get the chrome door panels.....its like an endless quest of confusion....also when i put the newer seats in.....anybody know how i would bolt up the newer style seat belts? that way i wont have anymore complaining from the wifey about the old seat belts not being safe

Do the seats in black with some sort of nice pattern cloth inserts, maybe something that incorporates some blue to tie it into the outside paint color. That would stop the worry about it just being a hot black seat.

Re: need a good interior color to match paint

Go with a black interior that has eighter blue piping or blue stitching. you dont want to make it two-tone just a little blue. Grey is to blend and looks to boring. Every Rental car has grey interior. And unless its a show vehicle. Creme will get dirty to quickly just like white.

Re: need a good interior color to match paint

Also the color of the interior does not matter. If you dont have A/C you will get hot no matter what. What matters is the outside color. The next time you go to walmart or something put your hand on a white car and then a black car. you will burn your skin on the black one. your Blue is a very light one, so you should have no problems. Leather/ Vinal vs. cloth makes a big diffrence too.

Re: need a good interior color to match paint

I have the Grey late model seat ( 88 Bench from a junkyard and all I had to do was clean it up, will reupholster later ). My color is 69 Light Green ( kinda close to your blue), thinking about changing it over to tan when I redo the truck.

Re: need a good interior color to match paint

that gray doesnt look to bad with the color.......its most likely what i'll go with as i know it will be a pain for a search on black seats.......right now im really leaning against some gray leather seats out of a newer trucks. that is if i can find them and arent to much more than what i'll have to pay for cloth

i really like these, just dont like the price, but love the idea of black leather seats with light blue accents in it http://www.suburbanseats.com/p-PUT-F...&productid=187
