3" Drop Spindle Question for the experts!
I might be purchasing a set of new/used Bell tech drop spindles. The catalog says they are 3" drop. I have read a little difficulty with this drop on other posts. Will this spindle work with 15" x 6" steel wheels? Going for a shop truck look, but have heard some grinding necessary for the 15" wheels. Is that only the 15" x 8" wheels? Educate me.
Thanks Shawn

I did a 3"/4" using the DJM lower control arms so I wouldnt have to go through all that. And at the present time Im rollin on 15" still, pretty smooth no grinding what so ever. Is faster, good product, and new all joints too. and My next step is to toss in a set of 2" coils and flip the rear, and tadaa.

I dont think you'll have to grind with a 6" wide wheel, most likely you will be fine.

Re: 3" Drop Spindle Question for the experts!
i tried the grinding of control arm lip with a stock ralley, which i think is 7 in. 5 on 5 bolt pattern.and it still rubbed.i would have had to remove way too much steel to make it work.i have 3 inch belltech spindles.and 1 inch drop springs.even if you get it to clear it will still be very close to rubbing.some have got away with it by different wheel offset.i said screw it and bought some 17's and never looked back.

Re: 3" Drop Spindle Question for the experts!
I am running my Bell Tech 3" drop spindles on two trucks with 8" rims that have about 4 1/2" backspacing, the very bottom of the lower A-arm needed a little grinding on the metal that sticks down on the edges, (right at the tip of the arm). I have had no problems in the 10 years that I have had my truck. I am also able to put an 8" steel rim on for a spare without any problem.
