Harmonic Balancer Puller & Installer Set

I pulled my 292. Now it's time to strip the tin. I have a pully puller that hooks around and pulls on the sides. I heard that I shouldn't use this type but rather it is better to use a puller that treads into the HB itself. Like this one.

Harmonic Balancer Puller & Installer Set
W89711 $73.75

For removal and installation of harmonic balancers on most automotive and light truck applications
Master set: includes necessary bolts and adapters for most applications
Bilingual instructions
Replacement Part Availability

However it is a little high priced. The one at Sears (sold out) is like 25-30 bucks, Do I get a 50 buck advantage but getting the one listed above?

that's about the same one i have a quality tool in my opinion is well worth the money// as far as the free tool programs at the chain stores if you add the time and expence running to pickup and dropoff as well as the fact that if you have an immediate need for one sometime at midnight well you're not saving a thing over the 30+year lifespan of the tool

Re: Harmonic Balancer Puller & Installer Set

After reading the posts about the problems folks can run into hammering on the HB I'm thinking it's worth the $. Hopefully, I'll still be goofing around with this stuff in 30 years or when I'm 80
