HELP Blazer won't start
New guy her from PA.
I have an 89 Blazer with the 4.3L engine, and I can't figure out why it won't start. My problem started when I hooked up my battery charger to jump start the Blazer. Ever since this point, the engine turns but it won't run. I have cleaned the battery ground at the block, installed new spark plugs, replaced the coil, the electronic control module in the distributor, and the elctronic spark control module on the firewall. I have also cleaned up the inside of the distributor cap and checked the CRANK fuse. I have spark at the plugs, and the injectors are spraying a nice pattern in the throttle body (so I've ruled out the not getting gas stuff). I also threw a timing light on it and it appears to be firing at 4 degrees BTDC. After checking the timing I found that there is a timing bypass wire that should be diconnected but I'm not sure where it's at. Anyone have any ideas what might be keeping the truck from firing up? Well I have now replaced the distributor cap and rotor. I double checked the timing and it's at 2 degrees BTDC. With the wifes car as a jumper, it acts like it wants to start but just won't. DESPERATE for suggestions! Thanks to all!!!! Last edited by papawheelie; 05-17-2007 at 07:33 PM. Reason: Additional Info |
