front suspention questions
i have a 60 chevy with tortion bars and i can get a x menber off of a 82-83 chevy will it bolt up? the other thing is the 82-83 is a 3/4 ton is it possible to use the a arms, spindles and get 1/2 ton rotors for the 3/4 ton frt end or is this a wast of time and find another doner for the x-menber and disc brakes.

I had some of the same questions, and found alot of the info already posted. If you go on top of this forum and do a search for brake conversion on this site you can get great write ups people have done. Last edited by 66newbie; 05-29-2007 at 02:12 PM. |

73-87 front suspensions will work. I'm not sure about the 3/4 ton a-arms and 1/2 ton spindles. There were so many of those trucks made for so many years that if I were you I'd just find a 1/2 ton complete set-up. That's what I'm running on my 62.
