Re: window change

That isn't factory. If you want to remove the vent, you need the One piece glass kit. ALL 73-87's had a vent window.

We sell the one piece window kits here:

Re: window change

Chris,
Why are the 73-87 kits so much more expensive than the older trucks? Is it the curved glass? I've been wondering if it's the parts or that there isn't as high a demand for the newer kits.

It is all about the glass being curved and the fact that to get them you have to order in bulk so you are stuck with a couple hundred pieces until you sell them. I was working on this kit and had it pretty much figured out but when I went to price the glass it was going to cost me $200 per side and I had to order 200 Left and 200 right at a minumum, so yeah, the glass being curved is the killer. As for them not being popular, I wouldn't say that. Last time I talked they were about out of the original run of glass, I think they had 25 kits left and was averaging about 7 kits per month.

On the other had, the flat glass of the 67-72, OPP can make as needed and they don't have to outsource it. So they only need enough to stay ahead.

Re: window change

I figured it had to be something like that. Even the regular replacement glass is more expensive for the 73-87 so I can see where the larger sheet would add to the price of the kit.
