A few questions, please help
So I recently started my project 71', and i have a few questions, first off, is it better to get repair panels that replace the original or just slip over and weld on?
ive heard people use alternatives to the brake booster, some hydra thing, what is it and where can i get a kit, also, is it better? and finally, should i leave the longbed fleetside, or go with a shortbed stepside? |

Re: A few questions, please help
I think most guys use the replacement panels as opposed to the slip-ons, but I'm not certain on that. The brake booster alternative you are referring to is called hydroboost. It utilizes pressure from the power steering system to make braking easier. I'm not sure who sells them, but there are guys on here that are running them on their truck. As far as long fleet/short step is concerned, it's a matter of personal preference. I think a short step can look pretty good if it's done right, but the long fleets are pretty cool, too. There are lots of beautiful examples of both on this board. Personally I'm sort of partial to short fleets, but that because I drive one. Hope this helps you out; others will chime in soon with better/more accurate info.
