Because short beds are more desireable, and they are hard to find in decent shape.

I caught most of the episode on Sunday. I was glad to see the working on a 66. Can't wait to see more...

First, we all love these trucks so there's no need to get our panties in an uproar about making them the way WE want them.

Second, opinions ARE welcome--That's what makes these types of forums great. At the same time we all have our preferences, but we don't need to talk down about something that doesn't fit ours exactly. Anyone that's putting effort into keeping these on the road is doing the world a favor in my book.

Keep it friendly.

Re: 60-66 C10 on Trucks!

glad to see a 66 on trucks. I doubt it will be anything like the copperhead that stacy david created, but still cool none the less.

glad i already had trucks! setup on Tivo.

I do have to say, Rockcrln's low buck build thread in the 67-72 forum will probably give better info on shortening a lwb into a swb than this episode did.

I remember back when TRUCKS first got started they were doing rocker panel raplacement on a '65(I think) and then it just disappeared off the show. I was kinda bummed out about that, but I kept watching the show .

Yay for peacful ends. But I agre, if too many longbeds are cut up now, were going to be kicking ourselves in the ass 10 years from now when we cant find a good long bed

Re-runs on saturdays, 10:30 cst I wanna say, and new episodes 11:30 cst on sudays.

I'm thinkin that ten years from now there's a good chance that repop long and short bedsides will be available. As for the frames, anyone who can do a long to short conversion can do the opposite too. Realistically, how many of these conversions have been done in the world to date? Maybe 50? Out of how many thousands? I don't think we're going to run into a longbed shortage.

I'd rather see a truck put back on the road than rotting, converted or not.

And BTW I finally watched it (DVR), and they did a nice job. Made it look too easy.

well tif we do run out of long beds i know there will be a least two left mine and if un did the the frame cut it would be more work than its worth id rather see them on the road to but not cut up i do love the customs but the origonal is better by far
