Trim adhesion question

The driver side top trim piece ( the long one ) on my '78 lwb has come completely off the box. I am planning on redoing all the stock exterior trim in a few years when I paint the truck. In the mean time what is the best alternative to sticking this trim piece back on so it doesn't come off again? I'd like to stay away from the aftermarket rivet type kits if possible. I understand 3M makes a great two sided tape for automotive use. Any advice is much appreciated.

Re: Trim adhesion question

probably be your best bet..........a little advice on the new trim....buy the whole kit at once if you can it's cheaper than a piece here and there like i did.plus you only pay shipping once.those long pieces get charged oversized.

Re: Trim adhesion question

The trim piece that has come off is in great shape as is the rest of the trim on the truck. Just looking for a recommended method to put it back in place for now. I'd like to reuse what I already have now and also when I repaint in a few years.
