Re: found this short bed today
That's sure looks like a long bed to me, alot of bed going past the wheel there, I sure don't mind having a long bed as a trailer, I can haul more crap in it.

Re: found this short bed today
Yeah, without a cab on it,the looks can be decieving. There was another member who thought a trailer was a shortbed, but was actually a longbed.Just going from the pic you posted, and comparing it to my shortbed...It looks like a longbed, but it could be the angle.I'm going by the distance from the front of the bed to the wheel opening and the sidemarker to the wheel opening. That's what has me saying longbed

Re: found this short bed today
looks like a LWB to me too.
Hell, 3 bills would still be a good pricefor a nice condition long bed though. |

Re: found this short bed today
Look at the distance between the front of the bed and the wheelwell. It's a long bed.

Re: found this short bed today
I believe the trailing arm crossmember is further forward on a shortbed truck and the rear cab mount is behind the crossmember.

Re: found this short bed today
Take a peek inside the bed along the top of the bedside. If you don't see a middle stake pocket, it is a shortbed. If you do see one in the middle, its a long bed.
Short beds have 2 stake pockets per side, long beds have 3 stake pockets per side. (NOTE this is assuming that the pockets have not been mod or shaved...) |

Re: found this short bed today
Nevertheless, it's a nice bed for $300!
I do have to agree that my initial thought (before reading all the posts) was "hey, that actually looks like a long bed."
