My vin/block cast #?

I bought my '54 back when I was 16(now 31). I recently tried to pick up my vanity plates from the DMV for my '54. They told me I needed proof of insurance. I went to pick it up and provided them with the VIN#. When I looked at my title/pink slip, the VIN reads 0350726F54XA. Does this sound like a block casting # to anyone. When I tried to decode it it said 1974 but unknown in all other fields. When I ran the VIN# on the plaque, it read 1954 Sedan Delivery. All of the other fields matched(color, wieght,etc.). I may just re-register the vehicle under the VIN # I have and tell them that I don't have a title. Any other help/suggestions are appreciated. I have way to my time/$$$ into this to start over.

Re: My vin/block cast #?

Through a little research of my own, I found out that these older vehicles were registered through the casting numbers on the block. So, even though I don't have the old motor, I can get a new Vin plaque and have both #'s stamped in them for the DMV. I'm also going to stamp the chassis and cab.
