Rally Wheels, Almost Done!

I just wanted to share a few pics with yall of my progress on the rally wheels. It has taken a month to get this far, just working on them here and there. Two are completely done and the others just need the fronts painted. I might have a chance to finish them this weekend, if it doesn't rain.

Let me know what yall think.

Re: Rally Wheels, Almost Done!

I actually did not sand blast them. I just took a wire wheel to them and sand them down real well. The paint color is Ultra Silver (M) from Dupli-color and the backs are Semi-Flat Black. They turn out pretty good considering how much I paid for them and my skill level as a painter.

Re: Rally Wheels, Almost Done!

i was planning to sandblast mine, but if wirewheel works, then thats what i may do (since i uh... would have to borrow the sandblaster). mine have a lot of scoring from the rings comming off/on over the years, that are rusted pretty good. i hope they smooth out acceptably.

I am doing this same thing right know and used a wire wheel as well. If you have a lot of rust where the tire mounts I suggest knocking the large stuff off and using the stuff from Eastwood the kill the remaining rust. Worked great on mine.

Re: Rally Wheels, Almost Done!

I like them. I also like to do mine in gloss black just to be a little diff. from the rest of the silver ones. Shows off the 3" chrome trim rings a bit better IMHO!
