Re: My 68 custom project
Yup!! some said I should leave it stock but it 's not my nature. I feel make it the way i want it . i plan to drive it and have fun . It has 77,000 miles on it . Iremoved the stock 327 and added a 332 with 11to 1 comp. and a 305h comp cam. Built the stock trans and added a 3500 stall . It's a work in progress but I love this truck!!! More pics to come. Thanks for looking!!

Welcome from the southern end of Mississippi.
I think your truck needs some springs and shock. It seems to be riding awfully low

I dig the old school rallyes on our trucks. How wide are the rears?

Re: My 68 custom project
The rears are 15x11 and the front are 15x7 the rear wheels I had made by wheel vintiques. Still 6 bolt and drums. The rear is a 68 gmc leaf spring that I flipped to get it low . Tucking 11 in of rubber!!!

Re: My 68 custom project
Lose the ladder rack . Lower it and make it haul ass instead of work tools and it will be perfect!!!!!

Re: My 68 custom project
Don't heat your hood to repair it!!!!!!!!!!! Just give it some sharp blows right in the ridge area or put something under the hood to push up in the ridge, maybe on top of the air cleaner and apply slight pressure down and watch the top of the hood as you do so until the ridge is pushed out flat. You may have to lightly hammer the ridge from the top of the hood to "relax" the molecules in the metal. Give it a try and let me know how it worked out for you. By the way, I hate long beds but I love your truck the way you have it set up.
