Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

as far as i know the 67s had small back windows until late in the year when the last few made had the big back window due to the change in 68.

Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

3 out of the 4 67's that I have had/parted out were optioned with the big window.

As far as all the 67's you see for sale having the big window is probably a combination of things.(rarer, not as popular, and a lot of people make their truck look like a 67(i.e. change vin tag and title) but don't take time or don't want to chane to a small window.

Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

the small window was only avalible in 67 on these trucks. There was an optional panoramic rear window, which was actually a carry over option from the 60 - 66 model. It isn't the same glass, but, the same basic option and idea.
I think the small window grabs your eye, becouse it isn't like the rest of them... it isn't the norm. When you see a big window, you automaticly think it's a 68, untill you see the lack of marker lights.

Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

Yup, most 67 trucks were small window with about 12% of those trucks having the panoramic cab (meaning big window)....

Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

As far as I know the 67 standard option was the small window, but the large window was an option in this year. By 68 the small window was only offered in the heavy trucks 1 1/2 ton and bigger, but not in the light duty trucks. The small window is truly rare for this body style. Only offered in 67 as either standard, or an option, but not any other year.

Re: 67 big rear window & small window question?

I must have read the question wrong. I thought he was asking why most of the 67's he sees for sale have a big back window even though 88% of them came with a small window.

GMpirate, now that you`re looking, you`ll see more small windows. You may be seeing alot of customs with`67 clips and filled bedside markers. You may just happen to have alot more highly optioned`67s in your area. But,the Panoramic backglass that was an option since`55 became standard in`68,with that being the only window.
