Motor question
Will an engine out of a front wheel drive vehicle work in a truck? I'm looking at a Cadillac engine but it is in a front wheel drive car. Is there a way to convert it to rear wheel drive?

Re: Motor question
Yes it will work. You'll need the appropriate RWD tranny to hook to it though. Rememeber that Caddy does not use the same tranny/engine bolt pattern as Chevy. But a tranny from a RWD Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, or Caddy will work. Of course you'll have other issues, like motor mounts, accessories, exhaust, and driveshaft. All very easily worked out though.

Re: Motor question
It's been discussed on here before IIRC. The Northstar motors aren't that great IMO. They burn quite a lot of oil and I've seen them leak it pretty bad, too. They have a fix for the leak, but it was around 2K for the repair back when I was working at a Caddy dealership. The starter is also under the intake, which is a little if you ask me. They do put out quite a bit of power, and as Palf70 said they can be made to work. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Re: Motor question
Thanks. Don't know what I want to do. I've got a few options and still trying to decide.
