Next Item !!

I have a chrome glove box door and want to paint/texture the main flat part of it in the pebbly black so it matches the gauge dash panel. Does anyone know of any aerosol spray bomb that will do that job for me ? I can get it done at a body shop but I'd rather do it myself and it'd be way cheaper.

Re: Next Item !!

I searched for a while, because I knew the answer - and I found it!

That came from this:

Re: Next Item !!

By the way - keep us posted.
I have considered doing this so I can have a "custom gauge cluster" in a "factory looking gauge panel". Just put my holes where I want them in the sizes I want, etc.

Re: Next Item !!

Hey? Is it in really good condition? Maybe we could trade? Mines painted to match my truck, but I've been contemplating getting a chromed one, unless of course their the same quality as the new sport bumper I just got

Do you have problem with the quality of your new sport bumper? I just installed one on my truck and if I could have bought it locally I would have checked them out and picked the best one. I had to grind one of the carraige bolts that hold the license frame on because the bumper hole was way off and if I grinded out the hole on the bumper it'd break the chrome and the bumper would start rusting right away.

Greg

You can go to FLAPS or Canadian tire and buy spray in bed liner in a can. I tried some on a trailer once and it did not stand up to rocks and sh$t but it did have that texture.

Re: Next Item !!

I did this, but I went with glossy paint. I do like the way it ballances out the dash.
You could also get a can of undercoating, it'll probably be thinner thant he bed liner stuff.
I'd test them both on scrap metal or even a card board box.
I also highly recomend getting the door bead blasted, to give the stuff a texture to bite onto. Cover the edges with duct tape to protect it.

Re: Next Item !!

Yea, my bumper was installed by the body shop, now that I got a good look at it, it's really waaavy on top, when the sun hit's it it looks like waves on the beach, really sucks. They said i should take it to the place where they bought it & ask them to pick out a better one. I'm hearing now that alot, if not all the aftermarket sport bumpers are of inferior quality.

Re: Next Item !!

any auto parts store has wrinkle paint in a can by duplicolor spray it on and i dry it with the heat from a floodlight and it textures nice// with the chrome i think you should tape the border real good and blast the center thats to be painted

Re: Next Item !!

you better get it blasted or something or nothing is going to stick for long

I like the chrome the way it is but, I think it would balance it out some as Longhorn Man stated.

Eastwood has the wrinkle finish paint. P/N 10014Z.
It takes a while for the wrinkles to form , but you
don,t need to heat it.
