Full coverage insurance for a daily driver?????
I know you can get classic car full coverage insurance for pretty cheap. But the ones I looked at had some stipulations:
Has to be stored in a locked garage. Mine is not. I have it under my carport. You can only put 2500 miles a year. Does anyone have full coverage on their vehicle that lets you drive it just like it was a new car/truck. Thanks,

Farmers Insurance. I have full coverage, for a fixed amount with no stipulations. Its not that high either. They took pictures of it and I had to have it appraised.

USAA will give you full coverage but if you want coverage for actual value it took an appraisal.

I also have full coverage and had to have mine appraised. I have a friend who owns a used car lot, he appraised it for whatever value I told him to appraise it at (this guy is too cool). I pay roughly $33/month for full coverage on my 67 Chevy and my 97 travel trailer through American Family Insurance.

i went through mercury. mind you im 21 in november, so almost 5 years driving experience and i have a clean record
they appraised the truck at $4000. (this was without new engine etc) i have it linked on with my 01 blazer and i have 100/300k coverage the blazer is $750 for 6 months w/ $200/500 deductible the 72 is only $161 for 6 months w/ $100/$200 deductible that price is with me doing under 5,000 miles a year in the 72. however my agent says its an old truck they cant check mileage since you can just say the odometer is not working correctly...etc the funny thing is that i used t pay $920 alone for my 01 blazer and when i added the 72 to my insurance the multiple car discount was $9 more than the premium on the 72. so basically my insurance went from $920 for 1 car, down to $911 for 2 cars. |

Had it through State Farm Insurance, they took a pic and we agreed on a replacement price. Mind you, the higher replacement cost, the higher the premium..

Whom ever you go with, ensure you have AGREED value, otherwise, when you get totaled out, they will try to hand you a check for 2500 bucks.

I guess living in Florida can have some drawbacks.
I tried getting quotes from some of the insurance companies listed above and they won't write polices in my state. American Family - NO State Farm - NO Farmers Insurance - NO USAA - not elgible Hagerty Classic Car Ins. - NEED TO BE GARAGED American Collectors - GARAGE, LESS THAN 2500 MILES/YEAR Any others out there?

I'm looking too. Farm bureau won't give full coverage on anything over 20 years old.

chevynut, have you tried Progressive Insurance or Geico? They advertise nationally, might give them a try. I had my Vette insured through Progressive, seems like all they wanted was the money (don't they all). Some places wouldn't insure me with the Vette, being under 30 years old at the time.

Just got classic vehicle insurance from Grundy Worldwide Ins. Their policy has unlimited mileage but restricted usage ie. pleasure or club activities---no work, shopping, school. Agreed Value for $5K required some pictures but no apprasial which was OK with me. Cost $62. a year!!!!!
Had Farm Bureau a while back but required apprasial which cost me $75.!!!! Pi@@ me off on that. The guy didn't know crap about trucks and low balled the apprasial. |

Try AAA. They took my truck, full coverage, no restrictions , full coverage, no appraisal needed. I had an old one4 years old, and they agreed to that value.

Haggerty is probably the most flexible agreed value classic policy on the market - yes, you do need to have the vehicle garaged . . . but depending on your agent - that can be a loose description. You can always enclose the carport, or garage the vehicle at another location . . . I know this may be inconvenient, but a couple of hundred dollars a year for a policy is hard to beat.
Haggerty's policy is an unlimited mileage, $0 deductible policy, but you MUST have a "regular use" vehicle insured in your name. The limits of liability will "mirror" your regular use policy . . . that is, they won't let you put $100,000 in liability coverage if you don't already have that amount on your regular use vehicle. The appraisal is usually only required on vehicles over $25,000, and will need to be accompanied by 4 photos - two exterior, one interior and one engine compartment. You also are required to have at least 5 years driving experience and a pretty clean record. Vehicles can not be covered if used for high speed racing or commercial use. In Missouri, vehicles less than 25 years old are $1.40 per $100 (vehicle value) If you have a $10,000 truck, your annual comprehensive/collision coverage will cost $140 - Liability coverages start at $25 for $60,000 in coverage, Unisnured motorist $20, underinsured motorist $2, Med pay $4, Towing can be added for $25 - $216 per year for the full package. Rates in Florida may vary from the Missouri rate, but not by much. I sell a lot of these policies to collectors, and have had no compliants in the last 4 years - the really cool part of the policy, if you have more than one collector vehicle, you only need to pay for one liability coverage - they assume you can only drive one of them at a time
