score one for the 73-87 guy's.
this isn't a braggin post.i didn't do this for congratulations.just for inspiration for those building one of these era trucks.i got alot of advice and tips on my never ending project on this board .sometimes it seems like we are the ugly little brother of the older era trucks.were not the only one's who think these trucks are cool.the 79 took first place in 60 and newer modified class this saturday in a show of about 300+ cars and trucks.alway's considered it a 10 footer.since i know every little ding and scratch.i was suprised about the number of positive comments from the under 30 crowd.glad there not all rice lovers.all the voting done by entrants(no,i didn't vote for myself).i was against everything from, laying frame ricers to some very nice 67-72 chevy trucks and 60-66ers.my whole point is keep bulding em.were not the only ones that think these square bodies are cool.seems like little brother is starting to sprout.

Re: score one for the 73-87 guy's.
thanks alot guy's,but, my point is.....it's not just us....the car loving public, thinks these trucks are as cool .cool as earlier era trucks.i'm just posting it as a little insperation for your build.maybe get some guy's intrested that have lost a little drive.i know i have personally heard comments that this era will never be as popular as the previous one's.and i even began to believe it.now i'm starting to wonder.

Re: score one for the 73-87 guy's.
And score one for you, boatpuller...
I know you're not looking for recognition, but your truck attracts it. Good looking truck with a good stance. Dueces, Tri-fives and older vehicles will always be popular, but enthusiasts are starting to enjoy other cars/trucks that were once not as popluar but 'done right', whether it's at a car show or the gas station.

Never been to that one, heard about it a lot but definately never been there. As far as the bash goes, I wish I could be there...seeing how I'm stationed in NY, it would be a long shot. I might have my dad take my truck down and put it on the sidelines since he has to be there anyway. If you win, you get a pretty nice jacket, I still haven't worn mine though...
