Good Junkyards in San Diego
Looking for some locals that know of some good junkyards in the area or have a collection of their own...

Re: Good Junkyards in San Diego
I don't know of any good ones for our trucks, but there are a few "OK" ones down by the Otay border crossing, off the 905. I think the road is La Media and if you follow it there are about 50 junkyards there and some have only truck parts.

There's more than you think Ordie. You just haven't found them yet. They're sorta shy and don't hang out a lot!

Re: Good Junkyards in San Diego
Wish I could make it down there to check them out with ya. I got nothin up here that resembles a junk yard. Went to two pick your parts, and all they had were sedans from the 80's.

Re: Good Junkyards in San Diego
When I was in the Marine Corps, I was stationed in Oceanside and I remember going to Quite a few there, now don't ask me where they are, but there were many. I think it was called pick and pull. I had good times there looking for parts for my 61 c-10.

Re: Good Junkyards in San Diego
I'm busy the next few days (including the weekend, going to the brother's show ) but a trip to the junkyard is never a bad thing. Also I think it would be great to get a bunch of our trucks together in one place some time in the summer. I brought this up on the blazer board but have done no follow up.

Re: Good Junkyards in San Diego
Try Gallant's in Oceanside. Just have trucks there. Probably will find what you are looking for. They do not let you pull the parts yourself but you can walk the yard.
