73-87 a/c parts on 67-72
Has anyone attempted using 73-87 evaporator cases on the 67-72 firewalls? The toying i have done with it i know some modification will have to be done to the back of the case as it sits higher then the firewall. The reason i am looking at this is the evap case i have for mine it pretty trashed and can't find a new one anywhere. I can find EVERY other piece for the inside but not the outside case. Any help would be great either with the mod of new case or place to buy a new one. Thanks!

it is the big black nasty looking case on the pass side of the firewall that hold the evaporator core. Taking my a/c stuff out to the shop now to compare to newer case. anyone have any ideas?

anyone? I didn't get much work done on the a/c part today too much work else where to be done. The case was deeper where the blower motor goes and the evap site more at and angle then straight. oh well it was a thought. anyone know where to buy a new evap case?

Re: 73-87 a/c parts on 67-72
I would post a WTB on the parts board. Any 67-72 with a/c that someone is parting out would have one, and it's one of those parts that no one ends up wanting and gets junked anyway. I have also seen them before on eBay when someone is selling a complete a/c set up from a parts truck.
I would also try www.dennischevytruckparts.com. They are a yard in Florida that specializes in 67-72 parts. I bought a Delco NOS speaker from him that I couldn't find anywhere else. Very nice guy. He might be worth a shot. Good luck. |
