5 speed TKO-600, anyone put one of these in?
First of all Happy 4th to everyone! I was just looking at 5-speeds and wondered if anyone has had any experience with a Tremec TKO-600?

Which 6 speed??? I find it hard to believe no one here has installed the TKO-600, in their truck. From what I have read, it seems to be a nice manual to go with.

Dont know about the TKO, or even what it is for sure, but many folks here have the NV-4500. How are they different?

NV4500 is a heavy duty towing/diesel type trans.
TKO-600 is a muscle/sports car type trans. I'd love to have a TKO, just don't have the $ to put in one at this point. |

Re: 5 speed TKO-600, anyone put one of these in?
I will be putting a tko behind my ls364, did quite a bit of research a year or so back.
Originally I was like 71/454 in looking for a T56 but after talking to the guy at Gears to Go (Rick? it was long ago) I decided to go for the tko. Some of the reasons are shifter location, better shifting supposedly, etc. The only real reason I wanted the t56 was so I could say I had a six speed and I thought there would be some mileage benefits but the final gear on both is the same |

Ihave a TKO600 in my Jimmy; McCleod street twin clutch in a McCleod scattershield. Have not started it up yet, so will have to let you know how it goes. I got the .68 final drive, also have the McCleod slickshifter.. and it
fits awsome. Tom |
