You could always put it in the glove box.

Re: would ther ba a way to put a CD player/mp3 player....

You could get a radio delete, buckets seats and then build a center console around that mp3/cd player.

Build a box that you can bolt to the front of your bench seat.... (I did not want to keep reaching for the glove box while driving...)

yep I would put that sucker right in the glove box. Motorize the glove box door for extra kicks.

they make ones that are a knobber in the dash but it controls a 6pac behind the seat or in the glove box

or measure out the heater controls slot and see what you can do with that.

Re: would there be a way to put a CD player/mp3 player....

no it doesnt, i dont understand why people get so butt hurt over cutting a dash to put a cd unit in. if the stock stuff didnt suck so bad we wouldnt want to put in something better. now if you butcher a dash with a sawzall or a 4" grinder, you are on your own, but do a nice job and you wont hear many complaints

I've also seen a few dashes returned to stock after being cut up and for someone who knows how to weld it looks like a pretty easy job. I doubt I will be cutting either of my dashes but if I did, it sure wouldn't be the end of the world.

Re: would there be a way to put a CD player/mp3 player....

I was going to look into installing a CD player from a Silverado/Tahoe into the ashtray opening. Maybe set it back a little and put the ashtray face plate on a hinge/magnet to hide it.

I'm going to do that, all CD players come with a little remote anyway so all you have to do is drop the box, or get a remote extender....

You will have to hack your dash up to get that DVD, NAV system in... I would build a nice center hump box if you have an automatic tranny...

I am using aftermarket A/C, with the controls in the factory radio location, and the radio in the factory A/C control location.

All uncut.

John, do you have any plans laying around for the front of the bench seat box you made?

Hi Fatmxmnr, I built it from scratch, but I do have some pictures that I can post later tonight to give you an idea of what I did. Check back with me tonight or tomorrow...

Re: would there be a way to put a CD player/mp3 player....

Here is the only shot of the seat frame and stereo box that I can find right now.... I welded the bar in the middle of the seat frame and it has three nuts welded onto it. If I find the other pictures, I will add them and TTT this thread..
