Re: truck bed
This was the bed when it was a stepside. The wood is Birch I got from Home Depot for $175... That was about 5 years ago..

Re: truck bed
Just installed, still needs stained and polyurethane'd. Red oak is from E-bay and stainless strips and bolt kit came from Classic Industries.

Re: truck bed
So dose this mean you are going to remove all of the boards then stain them and coat them. You should sand the sharp edges a bit round so the urethane dose not get thin there. Water will get in and mess up the wood. Even if you don't drive the truck in the rain I am sure you will wash it sometime or another.. You need to do the bottom also..

Re: truck bed
nice beds. I'm actually in the process of poly'n my bed wood. Its oak, PO put it in without finishing it, so it was a bit weathered, which is kinda cool. I sanded it down, but I still left some of the silver color on there, so it should be very unique.

Re: truck bed
Stock well used wood. It had a 3/8" piece of plywood over it for about 20 years so its a little better because of that, but still pretty worn.
