Cruise Control?
I was hoping someone here could tell me if this a correct cruise control for our trucks?
I can take more detailed pics if necessary. Also, and I hope I'm not violating any rule here - but if it is the real thing any idea of about what they are selling for? I bought it like ten years ago and forgot about it until I looked in the box today. Merry Christmas to me! Last edited by Skruffy; 08-25-2008 at 04:32 PM. |

Re: Cruise Control?
I believe it is a post 72 setup, very nice though and would work fine if installed.
Here is some good info from the FAQ section that covers the different cruise setups. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=136867 Jeff

Re: Cruise Control?
That could very well be the 71/72 style cruise. They changed when the cable throttle control started. I have seen that style(with the bellows) on stock 72 set-ups. I don't know what changed for 73.
The change from rod to cable throttle dictated a change in the cruise as well. This uses a cable for the cruise.

Re: Cruise Control?
Thanks for the FAQ link. It looks to me like the 1970 version, but like is mentioned there, if these things were dealer installed there is almost certainly a lot of variation.

Re: Cruise Control?
i own a 70 with factory cruise, that looks nothing like a 70 factory c/c... dealer, maybe, but I would think the dealer stiff would have been much like... if not the same as, factory pieces.

Re: Cruise Control?
The servo in that setup pictured was not used until after 1972.
Here is a picture of the 71-72 dealer installed cruise kit like the one that is installed on my 71. Note the difference in the servo and switch, that is the major difference . Jeff

Re: Cruise Control?
Geez, I appreciate everyone's help, but I think I'm more confused now. I think the one it looks most like is the one HuggerCST posted on the FAQ listed above, but who knows?

Re: Cruise Control?
That pic is actually Rods, from the FAQ section about cruise components that I posted earlier.
It was a very informative discussion in that thread and cleared up a lot of stuff about original cruise control equipment, at least for me anyway. Here is the link again http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=136867
