brake problem
i have a 72 chevy truck with power brakes and sometimes the pedal goes to the floor and then i can pump it once and it has a good pedal and then it will work good but every once in a while about every 8-10 pumps it will go to the floor again does anyone know why this is happening i think it is the master cylinder but wanted to see what yall thought befor i bought one

also check the booster, if its not getting enough vacuum it'll act that way.

I've had that happen on my 69 Chevy and my Tahoe. On mine, both times it was the master cylinder.

if the booster isn't gettin enough vac.. it'll use the reserve vac in that huge booster... and if that runs out, it'll get hard.
Master for 99% sure. |
