Rebuilt my truck...

Just wanted to post a few pics of my truck. Pretty excited - I finally got to drive it after about a 2 1/2 year rebuild! I took it down to the frame, installed power disk brakes, new suspension (lowered 4/6), new crossmembers, 350/700r4 (from a 250/3 speed), tilt/power steering, new wiring and gauges.

Re: Rebuilt my truck...

Thanks all!! I appreciate all the comments! Those and the dirve today made it all worth it!
Just got back from it's first 100 mile shakedown trip (previous trips were around my neighborhood - neighbors gotta love me) - almost no issues (except flexplate rubbing starter gear in reverse). It's about 90 degrees here today and no overheating! I can't believe I waited this long for power steering and disc brakes.

Hey Ogilthorpe,
Looks great! Where are you located? I'd like to check your truck out in person sometime.

Hey Doug, I'm up in Boulder. You're welcome to come up anytime, or if I'm gonna head to Denver, I'll let you know.

Thumbs up Re: Rebuilt my truck...

Verrrrrrrrry nice in deed. You did your truck justice .... have to be proud. Now kick back and do a little bench racing and of course cruising.

VERY NICE!! Congrats!
Where are you in CO?? I grew up in the springs....

Your truck has the perfect stance (IMHO...) would like to know more about your 4/6 drop... all mechanical/static?? or is it bags & cutting frame?

Cheers to you!

Hey Sam, I'm in Boulder (well, just outside Boulder). I actually grew up in California, but I've been here for about 12 years.

The 4/6 drop kit is from Early Classic, it's all springs and drop spindles - contemplated bagging it, but in the interest of time and money, I opted for the springs. I did not cut the frame, I cut my rear bump stops and have not bottomed out yet. It rides fairly decent too for such short springs.
