One more question for the smart guys

I am at the point to purchase a full disc brake set-up and wheels.

Q1: Will disc brakes change the wheel fitment from drums. Offset I
mean.

The reason I ask...I have a 6 lug set-up now. Thinking of swaping everthng to a 5 lug set-up...but I need to have the wheels here at the same time as brakes get installed to drive out of the shop. I dont have a place to install new brakes and measure everything to order wheels...and let truck sit.

If I measure my 6 lug drums for offset and order wheels based off those measurement (offset) will everything fit.??

I think that it would be within 1/2 an inch of offset....I am installing 18" front and 20" rear so brake clearance should not be an issue.

Disc brakes increase the front track width from drum brakes. I would find some real cheap steel rollers or see if you can borrow a set of wheels to get you out of the shop until you figure out your width and backspacing for the new wheels.

Re: One more question for the smart guys

Drum to disc conversions increase track width about 3/8" per side.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
