Brake Lights and turn signals
Got a 67 GMC with a small issue. The brake lights work. The turn signals work. The brakelights do not work when the turn signals are in use. Obviously one would blink, but the other should light. My experience would say replace the switch in the column. Any better ideas?

any parts store should have it. Make sure to check for an adapter in the box with the new switch.

Re: Brake Lights and turn signals
First make sure the bed is grounded to the frame good. I had the same problem, all I did was add a ground strap from the bed to the frame and that fixed it.

Re: Brake Lights and turn signals
good idea... highly unlikely being the ground will support the load of both brake lights being on... not likely to only be able to support one steady burn and oone on and off burn... but, it CAN happen.

Re: Brake Lights and turn signals
First thing that came to mind here is turn signal switch. My 67 panel did the EXACT same thing.

Re: Brake Lights and turn signals
Squirt WD40 or similar in the gap under the steering wheel to column to get to the t/s switch, work the switch fast back and forth a bunch: the old grease and stuff will break up and the contacts can connect.
Done this on the 68 a few times... Easier than a switch replace and a lot cheaper too..... Max
