Oil Pressure Gauge
Has anyone seen an original looking gauge for a 72 C-10 but that is electric. I can't stand having that damn oil line running in my new instrument cluster, not to mention new paint job. I can never seem to get it not too leak. I have had a copper line running in, even tried stainless steel but it always leaks. So just thought I would see if anyone else has seen one that looks orginal but is electric. I did searches on on internet but I came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a before and after. For some reason looks redder in after but it is Chevy Orange. Must the light. |

Ok just bumping this. Does anyone out there know if it is possible to go from a mechanical to electric oil gauge but keep it original looking. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I doubt you'll ever find anything.
I can't seem to understand why yours always leaks... does it always come from the threads? maybe you need to inspect the guage real close. Personally, I've always run mechanical guages, both stock (not for long) and aftermarket in all my cars/trucks... never had an issue at all. |

I installed an Autometer Sport Comp II - short sweep electric. What I did was removed the lens from the gauge and mounted it up against the back side of the factory tin to make it look stock. If you're not looking closely, you can't tell it's not factory. I don't have any pics of it but can get some if you like.

Hmmm, never had a factory one leak. Where exactly is it leaking at?

It leaks right at the threads. Maybe I should take a closer look at it. THis is just one of those things that has had me stumped for awhile now. My luck it is something obvious, that I am just looking over.

Maybe this is too simple to suggest, but did you try teflon tape on the male threads and install it that way?
