newbie lookin' for advice
Hey all...this is my first post so be gentle.
Just bought a 68 stepside (off ebay) I've decided on color (canary yellow, black trim) and all that stuff (JDM racing seats, 327, 700r4 just out of $$$ to proceed right now. Haven't figure out what to do about painting the inside of the bed (wood will eventually be replaced)...Same as the truck, black, Black up to the rim, black to include the top railing????? Any ideas? Anyway, I'm wanting a model / diecast / matchbox / hotwheel...of a 68 stepside anybody know where I might find something? |

Die cast are available at some Target or Wallmart stores. You just kind of have to look at all the "Hot Wheels" to find them. There are others in the same area by other names.Sizes range from 1:87 or so up to 1:18 ,Some can be found at swap meets also. There is a model kit of a 72 (1/24 scale)but I have'nt seen a 67-71 yet.

Re: newbie lookin' for advice
Oh trust me it ain't pretty... but I'm working on it. The good thing is the only thing rusted out is the passenger side rocker, small rust hole in the corner of passenger door, and INSIDE the cab up front (how'd that get there?), I've already got it sanded , body-filled, sanded, primered, sanded, half-way primer-sealed
How in the heck do ya get pictures on this thing? I've got a few from the ebay ad You guys are gonna love this...I bought this truck as replacement for the truck I currently drive everyday...a 2005 F-150 (It was part of a Truck/boat package I couldn't pass up) |

Re: newbie lookin' for advice
My "rust free" truck came off EVIL BAY from New Jersey..I was P.O.'d that it was almost a full cab redo, but, hey, I didn't care, I had my '69. Three years later and a few bags of money, I am well on my way to recovery and the truck of my dreams..Just don't ask my wife about the recovery part though. She will say my Chevy truck fever may need professional help or an exorcism in the near future..Welcome to the obsession.
