I like your friends truck. What differential is that though? My '69 LH came with a D-60.

Most definitely, for 16K you think that he would be smart enough to include more pics.

Re: Long Horn on E-Bay

I e-bay messaged the seller of the 16k truck and asked why it had the wrong front clip for a 67. He said it should have been listed as a 71?? Isn't that wrong also?????
Anyway it ended with no bids I see.

Re: Long Horn on E-Bay

WL, I have yet to find out why some trucks had the D60, i know it was pretty much a given on big block trucks, but I've seen a few small block and even inline trucks with them, and not specified on the SPID. Yours is the exception, not the rule.

I saw that 69/70 described as a 67... he also said there were 1500 made! I think that was a cab swap and the title stayed with the cab. The VIN he listed is a 67 VIN.
That blue one is a very nice survivor.

Re: Long Horn on E-Bay

I agree about the bed paint. The truck has a repaint and done very well in the original color. When he showed with it at work a few years ago, it felt like about 1975 all over again. The truck showed what looked like about 5 years worth of wear on it and looked real fine. It has the owners manual and other dealer info and the sticker in glove box etc. I was a little off on the engine. It is the 350, rebuilt with reciepts but as near as we can tell it was rebuilt at 40,000 or is that 140,000??? Not sure. Runs out just fine though. Nothing radical sounding, very quiet.
I believe Don says he is like 3rd owner.
has the 4.56 rear ratio and some massive leaf spring and overloads on it. Lotsa lookers and interest so far. I hate to see it go, since my truck is not done and won't be before a pic next to this fine one.

OK LM I didn't know that. But wouldn't a 3/4 ton,and a longhorn at that, be equipped with a Corporate 12 bolt if not the D-60? His has 10 bolts.

It could only have a GM/Eaton 10 bolt or a D60, the 12 bolt was used in the late 70s? to the late 80's.

That blue '70 sure is a nice truck!

the VIN he listed is for a 67... so SOMETHING ain't right.
And you are right on the grill... it's not for a 67 or a 71.

This is probably a dumb question but what is the difference between a C-20 LH and a regular C-20

Re: Long Horn on E-Bay

a longhorn has a 133 inch wheel base verses a normal c/10 or c/20's 127 inch wheel base. It was built up on a one ton frame, which is taller than a c/10 or 20 also.
They added 6 inches to the front of the bed to make up for that 6 inch longer frame.
All longhorns came with wooden floors in the beds, and they all came with leaf springs in the rear.
There were NO 4X4 longhorns made
All longhorns were fleetside trucks, no stepside versions... although, there is the 133 inch wheel base one ton step, it had a 9 foot bed on it... but it is not a longhorn.

Re: Long Horn on E-Bay

I can't believe this didn't go. This is one of the most original and well kept examples of this era that I have seen thus far.

Might sell off e-bay local though. Lotsa folks interested. It could be the model??? Price of gas?? I don't know.
My K-20 will probably have over 10 k in it , my cost, my labor, and will still have to go a long way to look as good as this truck.
