bed swap stepside to fleetside
I bought a stepside truck and am putting a fleetside short bed on that frame . The bed sticks up alittle higher in the back than the front , the cab to bed body lines line up at the bottom. But the bed is alittle higher starting at the wheel wells, it's about one inch higher. I want to make the bed even do I need to cut the pads off the frame and make them smaller for the bed to set level on the frame. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Re: bed swap stepside to fleetside
Shims work the best, Don't cut the frame mounts!

Re: bed swap stepside to fleetside
maybe new cab mount bushings (or what ever you call them) - get it back up to original height....

Re: bed swap stepside to fleetside
Pictures would help a ton. If you can get some pics of the bed sitting on the front mounts and the rear cross sill sitting on the frame, we might be able to figure out exactly what's going on. Until then, all we can do is speculate. Let's find the problem and fix it instead of putting a band aid on it.

Re: bed swap stepside to fleetside
Is the bed not sitting on the frame properly... or does the truck just sit higher in back like it's supposed to?

Re: bed swap stepside to fleetside
it sits on the frame properly and is the right height like it is supposed to be, pics really would not do any good you have to be looking at the truck to really tell.
