firewall chaulk
what was originally on the firewall in chaulk? im thinking part of the vin, but im not 100%

our 72 had the VIN and BLK for the color.

I've seen the VIN number as well as the model numbers. In one case on a GMC Jimmy, the VIN was metal stamped into the top of the firewall!

I've seen model number, and I've seen the z84 chalked into the firewall a few times.
