Where to buy a motor besides ebay?
Well i am looking for a motor for my truck. I am looking to buy an LS1 or maybe buying an LQ9 and using an LS2 intake. The problem that i am finding is that everyone wants a few thousand for a motor and tranny. I am finding on ebay that an LS1 will go for 3k-5k+ with tranny. I was hoping that someone here might know where to find stuff a little cheaper. I can afford a stock LS1 or slightly modified LQ9 but if I can find one a little cheaper i can build it up (cam, intake, ect.) and would really like to do it that way. Anyways thanks alot.
Josh

Check your local Parts Trader publications or your local junk yards.

The local Chevy dealerships are normally pretty competitive

Re: Where to buy a motor besides ebay?
over here craigslist always has engines and trannies for sale plus you can always put free WTBads on there---the good part about them is you're dealing in the local area

Re: Where to buy a motor besides ebay?
I'd buy one on ebay if it was local and you can see it in person first.
This is a great resource for LSX motors - http://www.schramauto.com/ if you aren't buying a new crate motor from the General. Many guys opt for the cheaper LQ4 or LQ9 better values than an LS1 motor. |
