Shtbx,'71 1 ton camper pics.

Just a couple of pics of my camper I took to Sturgis, picked it up for $400.00 earlier in the year, spent about 1,500.00 and put some work equity in it.

Naa. The shtbx is inside with it's own door.

Just don't put it on cruise control and go use the shtbx!

Re: Shtbx,'71 1 ton camper pics.

All the work I did on it in an effort to get it ready I never got around to cleaning the exterior because the pos power washer I bought wouldn't work and has been in the shop for TWO months now waiting on parts! Would like to take the camper off, clean up/paint the frame and get the body work done and paint and either put back on the old camper or find something else.

Man,I hate you!!!!Just kidding,of course.Just extremely jealous. You get a dream camper on the road for under $2k,hop in it with your scoot in tow and head for Sturgis with a set-up the outclasses all the Hamsters combined,IMHO.With Milwaukee plate to boot!!!At what point did you lose count of the thumbs-up and nods?
That truck has the standard 84" cab to axle frame, the longer of the two choices. The shorter would be 60".I`ve only seen single wheel short frame-mount rigs.A shorty DRW would be plenty stout looking.

Re: Shtbx,'71 1 ton camper pics.

Have been considering selling the "SHTBX" but they don't seem to go for much, have also considered taking the camper off and putting a box or flatbed on the frame, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Shtbx,'71 1 ton camper pics.

Well that is a pretty good find. You found it running for $400? There are numerous options available to you. Rebuild it like it is or if you don't necessarily need the camper turn it into a ramp truck, box truck or flatbed or add a dually pickup bed all to be used to haul the bikes and such. Turn it into something else unique or put it up for auction and use what it brings to start something else.

I'd love to have that!
I've been looking for something to go to swapmeets/carshows,etc.
If you decide to sell it,let me know.Or just the camper!

Saw a red 72 about a year ago for sale as I was going down the high way. It looked identical and they wanted 2250 for it.

Re: Shtbx,'71 1 ton camper pics.

Thanks guys. Not sure what I am going to do w/it, or the '71 Choptop in my avitar, have had the choptop for 15 years, have not even pulled it out of the shed this year, may fix and attend to a few things that haave gone un checked over the last couple of years and put it up for sale in the spring. As to the camper, I like it and you don't see many of them on the road, but then you don't see that many lowered ,long box, chopped top, custom interior and paint '71's either, can't justify keeping both of them, kinda have been into bikes for the last 5 years. We will see what next year brings , would love to keep both but who knows.
