I'm thinking about picking up a Mr. Gasket 3 speed shifter (#7667).

Has anyone ran one of these in there truck?

If so how far back does it sit in the cab?

i have questions about this shifter myself. i actually bought that exact same one. but im a little confused on its installation. anyone who has done it care to share some insight?

Not sure about the Mr. Gasket...but my truck has the Hurst Indy universal 3-speed shifter.

Works pretty well....It came with an extension for use in trucks..but still kinda of low.

Sorry man no pictures at the moment....I checked my build thread, and nothing there either.

All my pics are gone when my old PC crapped out.

i put a b&m z gate shifter in my truck and it was a fairly easy installation. i think that the hardest part was getting 1st gear to line up with the 1st gear position on the shifter

MR G shifters are CHEEEEEESY...... and the destructions are a pain in the a--
I have installed one in a 69 c10 and let me say NEVER again! Hurst or some of the others are probably fine. 16 years in auto parts and never kept a single MR G 3 speed sold....all have been returned at one time or another. Jerry

i bought a Lokar from Summit. It is beautiful and costs about the same as a Hurst. Plus, it's billet. Go to Summit and check it out, they are cheaper than Lokar.

I didn't see any Lokar manual shifters on the Summit site.

I never tried moving the seat all the way forward...but I know you can, due to the fact that you CAN adjust the position of the shifter by adjusting the position of the rods. Right now I have my seat all the way back, and the shifter is about 2" or so from the seat. I was actually going to readjust the rods so the shifter is a little closer to the seat.

It came with a "truck" extension for the stick itself (to make it longer)...I think, however, that it should be made longer...by doing so, it will place the 'center' of the curve (of the shifter) right at the seat...this would alow even more room for the seat to slide forward. I plan opn making this modification, and when I do, I can make an extra pieces for others who would want it also.....
