Headlight Switch
OK- I have a gnarly, hacked up gauge cluster in my '67 DD but- I scored a very nice replacement. Now either I've smoked myself retarded or there's a trick to getting the headlight switch knob and shaft out of the main switch behind the dash! I'm leaning towards the latter- so if anybody can educamate me on the technique I'd be forever grateful.
Thanks.

Re: Headlight Switch
On the switch (behind the dash) there's a little spring-loaded button. Push in on it, and pull the knob & shaft out from the front.

Re: Headlight Switch
Just a reminder, make sure to disconnect the battery first. Also, push the release button when you reassemble the switch, or else you may damage it and need a new one. No comments please on how I know this.

Re: Headlight Switch
it helps to place the switch in the parking light position to get that button depressed.

Re: Headlight Switch
I went about nuts before I opened my repair book and read that there is a button on the switch. I had to add Kilometers to my speedometer for the germans and I was also just about to rip the switch off.
Glad to hear how excited you were to get it off without breaking it Dingfodgy.
