Just wanted to say thanks to all.....

I am a new member here and wanted to thank everyone here who has been helping me with my new truck. I found this truck on ebay....had it shipped across the country to me (was damaged during transit in drivers fender)
I did not know much at all about these trucks untill I found this web site (thank you lord) I have gained very much knowlege over the past month from all of you guys here...and would not have been able to start working on this project without you all....SO THANK YOU.

Let me give some details of work completed in the month that
I have had this truck. 1970 CST-10 402 big block

I just installed Air Ride tech cool ride kit w/ digital controller.
CCP full disc brake 5 lug conv (was 6 lug) cross drilled and slotted...replaced
brake booster and master cylinder...
Installed new Foose Nitrous 18" front and 20" rear wheels

Engine work: Lunati Cam and lifters, Edelbrock pro performed manifold, full roller rockers, pete jackson gear drive, and I have some ceramic hooker headers to install after the cam is broken in. So far it sounds good..cant wait to install the headers and reroute the exhaust.

I plan to poss install a wood bed or show deck...still trying to make up my mind. I hope everyone likes the truck so far...Please give feedback on what you guys think....after all this truck would not be where it is at without you!

That is a awsome LWB truck. How do you like the air ride? I have thought about it for mine but just can't bring myself to do it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I like the air ride system....but now that I know how to install it, I would prob
buy everything in pieces to make it cheaper. Air Ride tech makes a good kit...but its pricey $$. You can make a kit for cheaper through sucide doors.
Other than that, I love that you can slam it when parked. Also rides good down the road with the bigger tires.

The 402...I will have to let you know after the headers are on. I have not pushed it yet. After the carb is tuned Ill post up how its running. I like that everyone at the local shows talk to me about the engine. I am learning alot about these chevy trucks...I love the look of them, really like the SWB trucks. I want to have one of the best LWB trucks when I get finished with it if poss. I am going to try anyways!

Re: Just wanted to say thanks to all.....

That should put some of the long box haters in their place. You have a perfect combo there. All the stock trim and paint, nice stance with your air ride and I will begrudgingly say...I even like the wheel tire combo. (slowly coming around to liking the larger size wheels)

Lunati-Voodoo is correct.

268 int./276 exh.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.542 int./0.554 exh. lift

Also the roller rockers are 1.7's (full rollers)

Do you think that was a good one to get??

That's one bigger than the one I got. I'm using 1.5 rollers. I'm not sure about using 1.6 on mine or what it even will do. The 1.7 is stock for big blocks, right?

Another 18 wheeler hit the transport carrier...I just finished fighting with the transport CO. about the repair. That is going to get repaired next. I need to find someone who knows what they are doing...I want it done right!

Re: Just wanted to say thanks to all.....

The truck is beautiful man! I love the additions that you've made especially to the engine. The air suspension really set the attitude for your truck, and the wheels finished off the deal!

Good luck on any other mods you decide to do. This site is great, and there are a lot of great members on the board. Just one big happy family!

$8750.00 for the truck. $1200 to ship from WA state. I think It was a good deal?

I sold my race bike to fund all the stuff installed this past month.
