69 dome light question
OK, so I'm trying to finish up getting my interior all back together. I gutted it last year to re-paint to match exterior color. Had the ol' noggin workin' good, as I put all the parts I removed in zip-lock bags and labeled them. ( dash bezel screws, headlight knob, glovebox latch, etc.) well, somehow I lost or misplaced the bag with mounting hardware for my dome light. I have the housing and the plastic lens cover, and two wires poking out the hole on the back wall of the cab........but that's it. Can someone post a pic of what the chrome/silver colored plastic housing mounts to, so that I have an idea what I'm looking for? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Re: 69 dome light question
The chrome housing has two pins that push into the two holes in the cab. The pins have a split in them so that when pressed in they will spring out and hold the housing in place. It is possible that the split pins were damaged when the housing was removed so a new one may be needed.

Re: 69 dome light question
Yep, you're correct. I took a look at the housing and sure enough, the underside is yellowed slightly, but there is fresh white plastic showing where the pins you mentioned should be. Good call. I was goin' nuts looking for mounting hardware that doesn't even exsist. I will just get a new housing.
Thanks for the help!
