I have a s6 spotlight on my truck, it (now) has a few broken gears inside of it, and the inner shaft is seized to the outer, I have priced out used ones on Fleabay, but I would like to fix what I have, I have no clue if the ebay ones are the correct legnth, or are just a universal fit. Any ideas on where to find parts? Hell, does anyone have anything they would like to sell me?

How about a long haul truck repair shop as a start. We have a very good combination hydralic(sp) and truck parts shop that carries all sorts of optional equipment for repairs.

you got a photo of what you're talkin about? I may have an assembly that you'd be interested in. Sold it twice on here but never got any fundage sent to me.

this pic is not mine, but I need the smaller diameter (long)shaft, and the end piece (with the gears inside) that the light mounts to.

I put one from these guys http://www.unityusa.com/ on my truck and they had templates for it and specific directions. I wouldn't be suprised if they were the original suppliers. I would contact them and maybe they could point you in the right direction. Chris

Unity is the original manufacturer. They are still made in the USA, and still in business. I bought a chrome windshield bracket for my '71 GMC. I don't have the part # handy, but I'll look for it later.

I am glad this thread came up. I have had one of these lights for years. I am missing the post mounting brackets so I never tried to install it.

Think I'll send Unity a note and see if they will sell me the install kit and Brackets.

Glad I hung on to the light for the last 15 years, knew some good would come of it someday!!

The bracket is p/n 202 for the Unity 67-72 Chevy/GMC windshield frame mounting bracket for the S6 spot. The shaft assembly repair kit is p/n 3615-A

Thank you for the part number, but OUCH, $67 for the shaft/head assembly... I can get a good used complete unit for less. I imagine I can get the part thru one of their distributors for less tho.

Yeah, they are spendy. I think they are used to dealing with copshops that just write out a blank purchase order for whatever they need, and let the taxpayers foot the bill.
On the other hand is it good, high quality, American-made stuff. That's getting to be a rarity.
I was lucky, I got some parts [shaft and handle assembly] from a movie set-- after-explosion scene.

I have a Unity S-6 that was on a 1992 Ford police cruiser in the salvage yard, the shaft was too long for my 68. I found the tube and gear assembly at Napa, the part number is 730-9526 and it was less than $20.00. This is the internal shaft and gear, I had to shorten the outer chrome tube about 2" and this made the light 14 1/2" cap to cap. Sorry it took so long to reply, I hope this helps.

I have two of these spotlights original for our trucks. They have a small tag on the top of the light that says GM on it. One of mine is missing the little cup that screws on to the end of the handle. I figured I would never find one. Its nice to know now that I can get this stuff from Unity...Thanks for the info.
