WIW- SBC 400 w/ TH400

I pulled them out of my 71 CC. Casting and suffix code come up 74 175hp 400. I was told that engine and tranny ran but can not confirm. All parts are there with correct ballancer.

I am taking it to the meet this weekend and if it dont sell, I will offer it here. What are these worth? I was going to ask $400 for the combo when I thought it was a 350. I am not sure the value of a 400.
Thanks in advance for imput.

Sorry, no pics the memory card is lost.

Re: WIW- SBC 400 w/ TH400

There are 2 400 blocks one is a 511 casting and the other is a 509 casting. The 509 is the one that most people want as the way its designed there is not as much of a heating problem.

This one is an 817 casting and CSU suffix code.
What are they worth?

Re: WIW- SBC 400 w/ TH400

does it run? long or short shaft on the trans?

i'd say if it ran at all 400 is reasonable for them... a th400 short shaft core would be easily worth 150$ and then the motor should be worth a couple hundered just for a core.. so if they did run then you right on track
