I've Got The Blues!

Well, here are some pics of my newly painted truck. I'll get better pics with a better background after I get the upholstery done.

Re: I've Got The Blues!

I bought an ECE center crossmember so my exhaust won't hang down (show) BUT I love the way your headers show just behind the front wheel. Looks MEAN!

One of the best looking trucks on the board lately - Bob

Re: I've Got The Blues!

Ya know- I heard that our trucks don't run so well and get lots of flat tires out there in Tennessee. Why don't you throw that effin' beautiful ride on a trailer and tow that sucka out West and let it live happily ever after out here on the Left Coast....namely in my driveway!

Looks killer- you did a sweet job.

Re: I've Got The Blues!

I really like the cowl hood in conjunction with the more tapered nose of the 67/68s. Gives it a tapered, wedge-like appearance (something our "family" is a little short on usually).

Nice choice of colors too. The chrome bumpers, wheels and headers contrasts well with it.

Nice!

It looks good, but I still say at least IMO, it looked a lot better before when it was black.

Forgot to say... I love the tail light mod too, looks awsome, but most won't even notice.
The stock ones are just ugly as hell.

Re: I've Got The Blues!

Thanks for all the compliments. The color is Atlantic Blue off the 03-present Dodge trucks. My stance is approx. a 3/4 drop.

Yeah Andy, those stock taillights had to go. I always wanted to change them before, but just didn't want to spend the money when I knew a resto would be coming.

Re: I've Got The Blues!

68Stepbed, nice looking truck and my favorite color! I have a 68 GMC that was the light blue color but would like to paint it the darker color. I am thinking of the medium metalic blue.

Did you paint it yourself or had it done?

If you had it done and don't mind me asking, what did it set you back?

I was quoted around $3,500 for mine.

I had it done. Mine set me back $5900.00 but that was assembled, almost turn-key. The only major bodywork was the rockers, one cab corner, and a couple small spots at the kickpanel/floor area. He assembled the truck, installed all bumpers, trim, mirrors, lights, glass, bed, a new wiring harness, brake booster, and all the little what-nots. My dad and I had cleaned, prepped and painted the frame and completed the rolling chassis. The only thing we had left to do after the painter brought it back home was install belts, rad. hoses, exhaust, and finish bleeding the brakes and get them working.

Re: I've Got The Blues!

If he did all that, it seems like a good price. And it sure beats the price of a new truck...

Mine was just for the paint job and me doing most of the body work.
